How to Write a Blog

Blogging provides your website with fresh, new content and keeps your readers coming back for more.

One way to keep your web traffic high is to keep a professional blog on your home page. Not only will this be one of the first things your visitors will read, but if it is interesting enough to them, they will keep returning to your site. Typically, we suggest a feed that shows the updated headlines from your blog.

Since most people are new to blogging some of these tips may help you:

  1. Keep consistence with your subject matter
  2. Staying on topic is important because it can be very distracting when the reader doesn’t know what to expect from you.

  3. Be as precise as possible with your area of expertise
  4. If you feel you have some great information to pass onto others, go into as much detail as you can. Your readers will appreciate the time you spent on the topic, especially if it is very precise. It is also important to be passionate about the subject matter in which you are writing. It really can show through the writing if the author is indeed passionate about their topic. Keep it fun, keep it interesting.

  5. Check your analytics
  6. While viewing your analytics, it will become easier for you to see what your readers are viewing. You may write another blog that will be helpful to those who enjoyed that topic. It will become clear for you to decide what to write on and what brings readers back to your website.

  7. Create new topics by making up a brain storm or browsing other news headlines
  8. It can seem near impossible to find topics to write about. Writer's Block can even affect bloggers. Creating a brain storm is a good way to explore your own mind for ideas if you seem stuck. Another way to create new topics is to browse other news sites and browse their headlines.

  9. Don’t overexert yourself

The overall point for blogging is to have fun with it, but also to bring visitors to your site. This doesn’t mean you have to write a new blog every day. Try to blog once a week, once every other week, or even once a month! If you end up blogging more, that is great, but don’t overdo it.

Writing a blog may seem tough to impossible in the beginning stages, but if you keep at it and are really passionate about the topic, it will pay off in the end!
